????The home of Zheng Huaide is of very antique beauty and filled with gaiety. Zheng Huaide made the colorful festive lanterns, vigorous and forceful calligraphy and delicately made handiwork.
????Since retirement in 2000, Zheng Huaide is occupied all the time with writing calligraphy, practicing martial arts, making festive lanterns and engraving glass handiwork. His post-retirement life is both colorful and funny. In 2006, in the Lantern’s Festival Lantern Making Competition held by Jia Musi Community, his lantern obtained the first prize for its unique appearance and exquisite carving. From then on, in 9 consecutive years when the twelfth lunar month came, Zheng Huaide started to make lanterns with discarded articles around him. The lantern appearance and originality is different from year to year. Therefore he has become known far and wide “Master of Festive Lanterns” in the community.
